For years I’ve talked about how when you write a song, or do anything constructive, it’s not so much yourself that does a lot of the inspiration, it’s some mystical, creative wavelength or *something* that you tap into. I heard the guy from ELO on the radio a while back explaining that when he writes a song, he doesn’t so much write it as chase it. It’s already there and it’s just about how much you can download or catch. I couldn’t agree more. That’s why some days you’re bursting with creativity and other days you’re about as in tune with that vibe as a neglected piano. Anyway, people call it different things, but to the mockery of my band, I call it “the vision”. I don’t really have control over when it comes but late at night always seem be a good time. Anyway this video form TED seems to explain this phenomenon better than I’ve ever heard it explained before. And it makes me feel a little less mental.
